Brazilian team FURIA, featuring Kazakhstani esports player Danil "molodoy" Golubenko, failed to secure a medal at the Esports World Cup 2026, reports infohub.kz.
In the third-place match of the CS2 tournament held in Paris, the squad faced Brazilian side Legacy and lost 1:2. FURIA convincingly took the first map, Ancient, 13:9, but then lost Nuke and Dust2 by the same score.
The young player posted the best performance on his team, earning a rating of 1.22, trailing only two opponents in that metric.
Thus, FURIA finished the Esports World Cup in fourth place, taking home $110,000 in prize money (approximately 50.7 million tenge at the current exchange rate). Legacy claimed third place and earned $190,000.
Team Spirit were crowned champions, defeating FUT Esports 3:1 in the final to secure $600,000 in prize money. The runners-up received $340,000.
