Seven gold, three silver and four bronze medals — that is the haul for Kazakhstan's muay thai team at the World Championships that ended in Kosovo. Kazakhstan's athletes finished third in the overall team medal standings, infohub.kz reports.
World champion titles went to Yusuf Mukhtasib (48 kg weight class), David Shirokoradov (57 kg), Turar Duisekhan (63.5 kg), Bakhtiyar Narimanov (67 kg) and Aslan Koshiev (over 91 kg).
Silver medals went to Anastasia Konyushko (45 kg), Daiana Duisengali (48 kg) and Abdurakhman Abishev (54 kg).
Bronze medals went to Sioband Omarov (75 kg), Alena Ozheredova (67 kg) and Yevgeny Zimin (91 kg).
In the U24 age category, Yerlan Shamardanov (45 kg) won gold, while Milana Kolchenko (57 kg) took bronze.
Another gold medal for the team was won by Kazakhstan's Ivan Van Khon Tun (86 kg), who became champion among athletes over 45.
For comparison, at the previous 2025 World Championships in Antalya, Turkey, Kazakhstan won seven medals. In the medal standings of this year's world championships, Kazakhstan finished behind only Vietnam and Turkey.
