The quality of driving schools in Kazakhstan remains a serious problem: a significant portion of training organizations lack the necessary material and technical base, and the qualifications of teachers and instructors do not meet established requirements. This was stated at a government briefing by Deputy Interior Minister Igor Lepekha, according to infohub.kz.
According to the deputy head of the Interior Ministry, an important step in controlling driving schools was the abolition of self-training for drivers in Kazakhstan. In addition, paper certificates of course completion were banned — this measure is aimed at preventing document falsification.
"Now an automated system is in place: as soon as a person enrolls in a driving school, they are registered. So it is no longer possible to become a driving school student retroactively. These measures have yielded results. Last year, the number of accidents caused by drivers with less than one year of experience decreased by 40%, and this year — by another 7%," the deputy minister said.
He added that in the future, it is planned to control the procedure already at the stage of opening driving schools.
"Unfortunately, today many driving schools operate that, figuratively speaking, have only a room, a stool and a stamp. They lack the necessary material and technical base, and the qualifications of teachers and instructors do not meet the requirements. Therefore, before opening a driving school, we will check the qualifications of teachers, the availability of the necessary training base and vehicles," the deputy head of the Interior Ministry said.
Recall that this spring, training was suspended in more than 700 study groups at driving schools in Kazakhstan due to violations.
