The minimum pension of 69,049 tenge set in Kazakhstan for 2026 does not include the state basic pension payment, which is calculated and assigned separately. This was reported by the Committee for Regulation and Control in the Sphere of Social Protection of the Population of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, according to infohub.kz.
According to the ministry, citizens with employment records before January 1, 1998, are entitled to a solidarity pension. They also receive a basic pension payment, the amount of which depends on their length of service.
In 2026, the minimum basic payment is 70% of the subsistence minimum, or 35,596 tenge. The maximum reaches 118% of the subsistence minimum, or 60,005 tenge. In addition to the solidarity and basic components, a pensioner may be assigned payments from the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (UAPF) from their savings.
The final amounts differ among pensioners, as they depend on the length of employment, wages, and the amount of savings in the UAPF.
From January 1, 2027, old-age pension payments are projected to increase by 8.5%. The final indexation rate must be approved by the law on the republican budget. If the payment is 100,000 tenge, after an 8.5% increase it will rise to 108,500 tenge.
Citizens who are about to retire are advised to check their employment record book about a year in advance. It must contain complete and accurate records of employment, organization seals, information about hiring and dismissal orders, and corresponding dates.
Documents can be checked independently, at the State Corporation office at the place of residence, or at the territorial department of the Committee for Regulation and Control in the Sphere of Social Protection of the Population.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that from January 1, 2027, the state guarantee of pension savings will apply only to funds actually contributed to the UAPF, but not to investment income.
