Shymkent football club Ordabasy defeated Kostanay's Tobol at home in the 20th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League, reports infohub.kz.
The match took place at the Kazhymukan Munaitpasov Stadium in Shymkent and ended 2-0 in favor of the hosts.
The first goal was scored in the 19th minute by Elkhan Astanov, a forward for both the Kazakhstan national team and Ordabasy. In the second half, another national team player, defender Sergei Maly, extended the lead for the Shymkent side. The Kostanay team finished the match with ten men, as Kazakh striker Nauryzbek Zhagorov received a red card and was sent off in the 77th minute.
The victory returned Ordabasy to the top of the Kazakhstan championship standings. The current leaders now have 46 points. Tobol sits in 10th place in the KPL table with 22 points.
