Since the start of the year, Kazakhstan's police emergency number 102 has received more than 4 million 117 thousand citizen requests, with around 12,000–15,000 calls processed nationwide every day. This is reported by infohub.kz.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the 102 channel is one of the most widely used ways for the public to contact law enforcement. "Every day, around 12,000–15,000 citizen requests are received and processed across the country. Since the start of the year, more than 4 million 117 thousand requests have been received. All calls to 102 are automatically logged in the information system and handled by combined police forces, and no report is left without attention," the ministry said.
In addition to the direct 102 phone line, additional channels for receiving requests are available to the public as part of the "police within walking distance" principle. These include an omnichannel request system, the "Police 102" mobile app, the "SOS" panic button and the "Law and Order" service.
According to the ministry, these channels make it possible to promptly inform police about incidents and offenses. Incoming reports are sent for review and appropriate action to the relevant units of law enforcement, depending on the nature of the incident and where it occurred.
