With only days left before the new school year begins, Kazakhstan's police have stepped up measures to ensure children's safety. Special attention will be paid to preventing offenses and child injuries, reports infohub.kz.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the campaign aims to create a safe environment for the most vulnerable road users and to protect their rights. Kazakh citizens have been warned that control near schools and other educational institutions will be intensified before the school year.
"Our main task is children's safety on the roads. Drivers must remember that adhering to speed limits and traffic rules, staying alert behind the wheel, and being prepared for children suddenly appearing on the road are key to saving our children's lives," the ministry emphasized.
Additionally, the condition of pedestrian crossings, road signs, and markings will be monitored. The safety of school buses and the transportation of children will also be checked. So far, 548 orders have been issued based on inspections of road infrastructure near educational institutions.
