More than one million women in Kazakhstan have received care at women's clinics operating under primary health care organizations and perinatal centers, the Ministry of Health said, according to infohub.kz.
According to the ministry, such clinics operate at 425 primary health care organizations and 24 regional perinatal centers. They offer dedicated reception desks, procedure rooms and family planning centers for patients. The share of pregnant women registering before the 10th week of pregnancy rose by 18% to reach 71%.
"One-Day Clinics" for the early detection of congenital fetal defects also operate at perinatal centers in every region. Under the guaranteed medical care package, pregnant women can undergo five types of examinations and receive their results the next day. In 2026, more than 100,000 women underwent such examinations, receiving over 500,000 services.
The Ministry of Health said the detection rate for fetal developmental defects rose by 13%, while the infant mortality rate fell by 15%. The ministry did not specify the period against which these figures are compared.
Since 2025, the country has run the Analar Saulygy program, which provides 12 types of free examinations for women preparing for pregnancy. Kazakhstan records more than 300,000 births every year.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in the first quarter of 2026 maternal mortality in Kazakhstan fell by 43% compared with the same period in 2025, from 12 to 6.8 cases per 100,000 live births. According to the Ministry of Health, infant mortality also declined over that period, from 5.92 to 5.56 cases per 1,000 newborns.
