President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called for creating favorable conditions for a comfortable and safe environment for the younger generation, reports infohub.kz.

During a meeting, the head of state supported the government's initiative to legislatively ban the registration of children under 16 in social networks. "I elaborated on this topic during the recent August conference. These measures are being adopted by many countries. I support this initiative. I believe that this issue should be considered as a priority," Tokayev emphasized.

The President noted that when adopting the bill, it is necessary to work out all mechanisms for its implementation in advance so that regulatory acts do not remain only on paper. "Along with this, it is important to speed up the consideration of draft laws aimed at ensuring the technological sustainability of the energy sector and the development of alternative energy sources. Particular attention should be paid to laws regulating the activities of online platforms and mass media. To protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens in the information space, additional measures must be taken," the President added.
