While debates over the recycling fee continue, part of these funds has been directed to updating equipment for fighting natural fires. Since 2024, more than 33 billion tenge have been allocated for these purposes, and forestry enterprises, nature reserves, and national parks have received over a thousand units of new equipment, reports infohub.kz.
Zhasyl Damu JSC reported that since 2024, 33.1 billion tenge have been allocated for updating equipment for environmental institutions. With these funds, 1,006 units of special equipment were purchased, including fire trucks, off-road vehicles, tractors, and other machinery necessary for preventing and eliminating forest and steppe fires.
"Since 2024 to the present, 33,121,711,000 tenge of recycling fee funds have been directed to the purchase of modern specialized equipment for state national natural parks, forest reserves, nature reserves, and forestry institutions of the country," Zhasyl Damu JSC reported.
The largest deliveries were received by the East Kazakhstan, Akmola, Pavlodar, and Kostanay regions, as well as the Abai region and the North Kazakhstan region. These regions accounted for more than 24 billion tenge of financing.
According to the company, the new equipment is already in use in the regions. It is designed for patrolling forest areas, rapid deployment of firefighting teams, and extinguishing natural fires.
The purchase of equipment is carried out within the framework of the environmental initiative "Taza Kazakhstan" with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that based on the results of 2025, Zhasyl Damu JSC received 39.5 billion tenge in net profit, which is higher than the previous year's figure. Of this amount, 27.6 billion tenge, or 70% of the profit, was directed to the republican budget as dividends. The company is the sole state operator of extended producer and importer responsibilities and administers the collection of recycling fees.
