In Kazakhstan, 22 technical supervision experts have been dismissed following inspections of road work quality, and penalties totaling 53.4 million tenge have been imposed on responsible specialists. This was reported by infohub.kz.
According to the Telegram channel of the National Company KazAvtoZhol, the company conducted more than 50 quality inspections of ongoing road works this year. As a result, 1,670 defects and violations were identified.
"Among the identified defects are potholes, cracks, depressions, shifts in asphalt concrete pavement, rutting, and other violations affecting the operational condition of highways. To date, 831 of them have been remedied, or 49.8% of the total. Work to address the remaining issues continues," the company said.
It is noted that responsible persons are being identified for each case and appropriate measures are being taken. In particular, penalties totaling 53.4 million tenge have been imposed on technical supervision specialists who allowed inadequate quality control. In addition, 22 technical supervision experts have been dismissed.
KazAvtoZhol emphasized that identifying a defect does not mean accepting it: contractors are issued requirements to remedy the issues, and responsible persons are subject to prescribed measures.
It is reported that inspections of road facilities will continue across the entire national network.
