Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev held a phone conversation with Romania's Acting Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu, during which the sides condemned any actions threatening the operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), reports infohub.kz.
The talks focused on energy cooperation, which is of strategic importance for bilateral relations. The interlocutors discussed the situation around the CPC, which plays a key role in ensuring the export of Kazakh oil to international markets.
Noting the strategic significance of the stable operation of energy infrastructure and reliable hydrocarbon supplies to the European market, the sides condemned any actions that pose a threat to the functioning of CPC infrastructure and the security of energy supplies.
The heads of foreign ministries noted mutual interest in further developing practical cooperation between Kazakhstan and Romania in the energy sector. Oana Țoiu invited Yermek Kosherbayev to pay an official visit to Romania.
