Border officials in Kazakhstan blocked an attempt to import a batch of chicken eggs without the required veterinary accompanying documents — a total of 252,000 eggs. The Ministry of Agriculture reported the incident, according to infohub.kz.
The violation was detected at the Zhaisan veterinary control checkpoint in Aktobe Region. The vehicle was traveling from Russia to Baikonur.
During the inspection, officers from the Aktobe regional territorial inspection of the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision found that the shipment lacked the necessary veterinary documents.
An act and an administrative protocol were drawn up over the violation. The entire batch of 252,000 eggs was returned to Russia.
The carrier was briefed on the requirements of veterinary legislation and the rules for moving regulated products across the state border.
The Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision said control over the import of regulated products will continue.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Alatau-Qus poultry farm is investing 6.5 billion tenge in building a breeding reproducer in Almaty Region. The complex will be able to produce up to 12 million hatching eggs a year and is expected to reduce the company's dependence on foreign supplies of breeding material.
