In the new academic year, Kazakh schoolchildren will begin studying new subjects — "Fundamentals of the Constitution" and "Law and Order." This was announced by President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev at the plenary session of the Republican August Conference, reports infohub.kz.
As the head of state noted, on his instructions, the discipline "Fundamentals of Law" will also be introduced in schools starting this academic year. The main goal of the innovation is to form a law-abiding young generation that respects the Constitution, capable of building a prosperous society and achieving personal well-being, that is, a happy life. "Meanwhile, young people who ignore legal norms and break the law will inevitably face criminal punishment and a ruined life. Unfortunately, many of our young citizens not only do not know but do not even realize this simple truth. Our task is to convey this life axiom to each of them," the president emphasized.
Toqaev also added that it is extremely important that the content of textbooks meets modern requirements and the ideas enshrined in the New Constitution. "The government and the relevant ministry bear direct responsibility for the quality and timely implementation of the set task," he concluded.
