September in Kazakhstan was almost rain-free and warm, with some days even hot — air temperatures exceeded the climate norm by 2–4 degrees, reports infohub.kz.

According to the Telegram channel of Kazhydromet, such warm weather was driven by frequent inflows of warm air masses from Iran and Central Asia. In late the first ten days of September, as well as on certain days in the second and third ten-day periods, most of the country experienced summer-like hot weather: daytime temperatures rose to +27…+37°C.

Temperature records were set in several cities. On September 10, the air in Jezkazgan heated up to +37°C — the last time the highest temperature on this day was recorded in 2000 at +33.8°C. On September 11, the temperature in Kokshetau rose to +32.5°C, breaking the 2007 record (+30.3°C). On September 24, the air in Aktau reached +34.2°C, beating the 2022 record (30.1°C).

As for rain, the weather was dry due to frequent anticyclones. The exception was the West Kazakhstan region and some areas of the northwestern and southwestern parts of the country, where precipitation exceeded the climate norm. In the West Kazakhstan region, on September 7, two monthly norms of precipitation fell in a day — 43 mm (norm 27 mm); on September 8, two monthly norms — 47 mm (norm 24 mm). In the Mangystau region, 14 mm fell on September 9 (monthly norm 8 mm).

In Astana, the average monthly air temperature was +16.3°C, which is 3.7 degrees above the norm of +12.6°C. The highest temperature in the capital was recorded on September 10 at +32.2°C, and the lowest on September 27 at +2.6°C. Precipitation for the month was 2 mm, nearly ten times less than the norm (21 mm).
