A draft order published in Kazakhstan would raise social benefits for disability and loss of breadwinner by 8.5% starting in 2027. The document was posted on the Open NPAs portal, according to infohub.kz.

Officially employed Kazakhstani citizens may in some cases receive social benefits from the State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF). The size of some of these payments will be increased in 2027.

According to the draft order, the increase will apply to two social benefits: those for disability and for loss of breadwinner.

The indexation is expected to amount to 8.5% of the size of already assigned social benefits. Both of these payments are assigned in addition to state allowances for disability and loss of breadwinner. Citizens for whom social contributions were paid receive both payments at once.

Meanwhile, a draft republican budget published earlier in Kazakhstan proposed not raising the monthly calculation index used to calculate benefit amounts in 2027.

As a result, a situation may arise in which the total amount of payments next year remains unchanged for allowance recipients but grows for those who have been assigned social benefits.
