Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has released its performance report for the first half of 2026. At an expanded meeting chaired by Minister Askarbek Yertayev, officials reviewed the results and outlined key tasks for the remainder of the year, according to infohub.kz.
A total of 6.8 trillion tenge has been earmarked for social payments in 2026. Pensions and benefits have reached 4.6 million people, with total disbursements amounting to 3.3 trillion tenge. Since the beginning of the year, approximately 250,000 people have been employed, and an additional 245,000 citizens have benefited from active employment support measures.
State labor inspectors conducted 3,607 inspections, uncovering more than 4,000 violations of labor laws. The country’s unemployment rate stood at 4.5%. Over 45% of medical and social assessments are now conducted remotely. Thanks to digitalization, the processing time for nine public services has been reduced to one business day.
