Kazakhstan is launching a pilot project to provide targeted social support to women working as couriers who find themselves in difficult life situations. They will be able to count on legal and humanitarian assistance, reports infohub.kz.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Yandex Qazaqstan, and the public foundation "Center for Support 'Іsker'" have signed a memorandum to launch the initiative. The assistance is intended for women who fulfill orders through the "Yandex Eda", Lavka, and "Delivery" services in the Yandex Go app and find themselves in a difficult or crisis situation.
Those who have been working as couriers through Yandex services for at least four consecutive weeks and meet the program's conditions will be able to participate. Priority will be given to socially vulnerable categories: single mothers, mothers with many children, women with disabilities, women raising children with special needs, and those caring for seriously ill family members. However, belonging to these categories does not guarantee automatic assistance—decisions will be made individually based on the specific situation and family needs.
Under the project, women will receive help with accessing social services and state support measures. This includes legal and psychological assistance, humanitarian aid, improving legal and financial literacy, access to educational and informational programs, and assistance in obtaining medical care when warranted. The type and amount of assistance will be determined individually.

The document launching the project was signed by Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Askarbek Yertayev, head of the Yandex Qazaqstan group of companies Timur Shalekenov, and director of the "Center for Support 'Іsker'" foundation Tolkyn Sametova. The project is launched in pilot mode, and based on its results, the parties will assess the demand for such support and the possibility of further development of the program.
