Kazakhstan's men's shooting team narrowly missed a top-four finish in the team standings at the Summer Asian Games in Japan, infohub.kz reports.
In the 50m rifle three positions event, Islam Satpayev, Konstantin Malinovskiy and Nikita Shakhtorin competed for the national team. The Kazakh athletes scored 1746 points to finish fifth. They also recorded 79 inner tens.
China won the Asian Games title with 1766 points. India took silver with 1762, and South Korea claimed bronze with 1751.
In addition, Valeriy Rakhimzhan and Valeriya Popelova competed in the 10m air pistol mixed team qualification. The Kazakh duo scored 569 points to finish 13th, failing to advance to the final.
