Kazakhstan is preparing large-scale subsoil auctions for 2027, reports infohub.kz.
The Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced that starting in 2027, Kazakhstan will put up for investment auctions new promising subsoil blocks prepared under the large-scale State Geological Study of the Subsoil (GosGIN) program.
This was announced during a working trip of Minister Ersayin Nagaspayev to the Ulytau region. The state is changing its approach: investors will be offered not just free areas, but blocks with a ready-made, detailed electronic data set.
This year, geological survey work at a scale of 1:50,000 (GS-50) has begun on 20 blocks across the country. The total area covered exceeds 100,000 sq km, with projects implemented in 11 regions. In the Ulytau region, comprehensive geological studies are being conducted over an area of 36,000 sq km within 7 blocks.
Here, comprehensive studies cover 7 territories with a total area of 36,000 sq km. In the Ulytau and Abai regions, specialists have already drilled about 300 wells.
To collect high-quality data, a group of geological exploration companies has been formed under the coordination of JSC National Geological Service. Kazakhmys Barlau LLP is conducting advanced studies in Ulytau, including aeromagnetic survey, aerogravimetry, and aerogamma-spectrometry. JSC Kazgeology (part of Tau-Ken Samruk) uses unmanned aerial complexes with high-precision RTK navigation for online control of data continuity. The advanced high-precision geochemical method Ionic Leach is being applied.
In parallel, a unified digital cadastre of subsoil is being created. Each promising block will receive its own digital passport, providing investors with quick and transparent access to geological information.
