At the Syrym veterinary control checkpoint in the West Kazakhstan Region, authorities thwarted two attempts to illegally import a total of 107 tonnes of products from the Chechen Republic and the Republic of Belarus, according to infohub.kz.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the first violation involved 88 tonnes of wheat bran traveling from the Chechen Republic to the Turkistan Region and the city of Shymkent. "An inspection found no veterinary accompanying documents or labeling, nor the required heat treatment of the products," the ministry said.
The second case involved the halt of a transit shipment of 19 tonnes of boneless beef and meat semi-finished products from the Minsk Region of the Republic of Belarus to Tashkent.
The ministry recalled that, due to an unfavorable epizootic situation, temporary restrictions on the import and transit of such products through certain regions of the Russian Federation have been in effect since February 24, 2026.
"All 107 tonnes of products have been returned to their points of departure. Administrative protocols have been drawn up against the carriers under Article 406 of the Administrative Offenses Code of Kazakhstan, and fines have been imposed. Awareness work was also carried out on compliance with EAEU veterinary and sanitary requirements," the ministry added.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, 230 violations have been detected at the Syrym checkpoint, 230 vehicles have been turned back, and 100 administrative protocols have been drawn up with total fines of 8.9 million tenge.
