In June 2026, several long-standing temperature records were broken across Kazakhstan, with the oldest being a 71-year-old record in Pavlodar, according to infohub.kz.

According to Kazhydromet, most of the country experienced temperatures 1–5°C above the climatic norm. Daytime temperatures ranged from +30 to +38°C in most regions, reaching +43°C in the south. Meteorologists attributed the heat to dry tropical air masses. Meanwhile, western Kazakhstan saw cooler and rainier weather due to Atlantic cyclones, with rainfall exceeding norms by 2 to 5 times in some areas.

On June 1, Pavlodar hit +36.8°C, surpassing the previous record of +36.1°C set in 1955. The same day, Almaty recorded a new high of +34.5°C, breaking the 1967 record of +34.4°C.
