In Petropavlovsk, a TikTok user has been held administratively liable for spreading false information about a road accident, reports infohub.kz.

According to the official Telegram channel of the courts of the North Kazakhstan region, the specialized court for administrative offenses in Petropavlovsk reviewed the case against the TikTok user who posted inaccurate details about an accident.

It was established that in August of this year, he published information on his page claiming that a driver had hit a cyclist, who sustained serious injuries, was in an ambulance, and could not move independently.

It turned out that this information was false. The cyclist received medical assistance at the scene and did not require hospitalization. Additionally, an administrative protocol was drawn up against him for violating traffic rules.

The fact of spreading false information was confirmed by the administrative protocol, the appeal, the explanations of the participant, and video footage.

The user admitted his guilt and did not contest the evidence.

By court order, he was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 3 of Article 456-2 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses, and was fined 20 MCI (86,500 tenge).

The ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
