In July 2026, Kazakhstan's banking sector showed robust profitability growth. The aggregate net profit of financial institutions for the month reached 200.9 billion tenge, up 26% from June. The composition of the top five most profitable banks changed in July, according to data from the National Bank... reports infohub.kz.
The first and second places are traditionally held by the two largest players. Halyk Bank remains the leader in earnings. In July, its net profit amounted to 75.6 billion tenge, up 16% (or 10.3 billion tenge) compared to the previous month. The bank's cumulative profit since the start of the year reached 539.1 billion tenge.
Kaspi Bank secured the second position, earning 41.2 billion tenge in the month. The increase from June was 18% (plus 6.3 billion tenge), and the total financial result since the beginning of the year rose to 268 billion tenge.
Bank CenterCredit (BCC) and Otbasy Bank took the third and fourth spots, but both financial institutions recorded a decline in monthly profit. BCC's figure fell by 12% (-2.2 billion tenge) to 16.4 billion tenge. Since the start of the year, the bank has earned 123 billion tenge. Otbasy Bank's profit dropped by 22% (-3.9 billion tenge) to 13.6 billion tenge. The cumulative result for the year is 100 billion tenge.
The main breakthrough of the month was Freedom Bank, which displaced ForteBank from the top five. Freedom's net profit soared by 236% (plus 6.7 billion tenge) to 9.6 billion tenge in just one month. Since the beginning of the year, the bank has accumulated 22.3 billion tenge.
Meanwhile, ForteBank saw a sharp decline in profitability of 66% (-9.4 billion tenge). In July, the bank earned only 4.8 billion tenge, and its cumulative profit since the start of the year stood at 73.8 billion tenge.
In June 2026, the composition of the top five most profitable banks was different, and the overall indicators of the leaders were more modest. At the beginning of summer, ForteBank was the last in the list of leaders with a monthly net profit of 14.2 billion tenge (69 billion tenge since the start of the year). The other positions in June were distributed as follows: Halyk Bank earned 65.3 billion tenge in the month (463.6 billion tenge since the start of the year), Kaspi Bank – 35 billion tenge (226.8 billion tenge), Bank CenterCredit – 18.6 billion tenge (106.5 billion tenge), and Otbasy Bank – 17.5 billion tenge (86 billion tenge).
