Kazakhstan's under-21 football team lost their away UEFA Euro 2027 qualifier against Moldova, infohub.kz reports.

The Group D match took place at the Central Stadium in Nisporeni and ended in a 3-2 win for the hosts.

The first two goals went to the visitors: forward Saif Popov scored in the 13th minute, and midfielder Miras Omatay in the 38th.

Before the break, Moldova pulled one back through midfielder Vasile Luchita's strike in the 43rd minute. The same player was sent off in stoppage time.

In the second half, Kazakhstan were reduced to nine men: Omatay (50th minute) and defender Sultan Askarov (75th) were both sent off. Moldova snatched victory thanks to a brace from midfielder Serghei Turcan, who scored in the 72nd and 90th minutes.

Kazakhstan finished their Euro 2027 qualifying campaign with one win, one draw and eight defeats. With four points, the national team finished last, sixth, in the group.

Moldova earned eight points and moved up to fourth place, ahead of Andorra. England, Ireland and Slovakia also competed in the group.
