Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev held a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda under the expanded strategic partnership, as well as preparations for the upcoming visit of the head of state to the US to participate in the G20 summit, the ministry said.
Earlier this month, it became known that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev plans to travel to the US to attend the G20 summit.
Additionally, Kosherbayev and Rubio discussed in detail the situation around the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). The ministry did not disclose details of the conversation.
Earlier, the CPC reported a drone attack on its marine terminal. On July 23, Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry announced the suspension of loading operations at the CPC marine terminal to ensure the safety of vessels, crews, and the environment in the Black Sea. On July 25, the consortium resumed receiving oil from shippers and operations to load it via the marine terminal at the port of Novorossiysk.
