Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport has put forward amendments affecting vehicles imported into the country for both commercial and personal use, according to infohub.kz.
The draft order has been published on the Open NPAs portal. The document introduces changes and additions to Order No. 342 of the Acting Minister for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 26, 2015, "On Approval of Permissible Parameters of Motor Vehicles Intended for Movement on Public Roads of the Republic of Kazakhstan."
The ministry proposes adjusting paragraph 19 of the Rules, clarifying the scope of entities covered by the relevant provision. "Its application is clearly delineated and is envisaged for legal entities and business entities engaged in the commercial import of motor vehicles," the explanatory note to the draft states.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport plans to supplement the Rules with paragraph 19-1, which will establish a separate regulatory procedure for individuals importing motor vehicles for personal use. "This approach ensures differentiation of requirements depending on the category of participants and promotes uniform application of the Rules," the ministry's statement notes.
The draft is available for public discussion until October 5.
