Kazakhstanis have recently been receiving more messages from scammers offering "guaranteed income" and "risk-free investments," according to infohub.kz, citing Polisia.kz.
As reported on the Polisia.kz Telegram channel, fraudsters are using social media to invite citizens to participate in dubious investment projects. They pose as brokers, employees of investment companies, or financial experts, promising "high returns," "guaranteed profits," and "risk-free investments." Initially, the victim is asked to invest a small amount, after which a fake website or app shows a supposedly growing balance. Then, under the pretext of "increasing investments," "paying commissions," or "unlocking the account," they demand additional transfers.
When the person tries to withdraw funds, the website stops working, the account is blocked, and the "consultant" disappears. As a result, the citizen loses all invested money.
In light of the increasing cases of fraud, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a warning to Kazakhstanis. Law enforcement urges people not to trust promises of high returns with 100% guarantees, to be wary of offers to "multiply your money several times in a few days," not to trust those who demand urgent decisions, not to transfer money at the instruction of strangers, not to share bank card details, CVV codes, or SMS codes with anyone, and not to click on suspicious links or install unknown applications.
