Kazakhstan is forecast to see rain, snow and nighttime frosts from October 15 to 17, 2026. In the east of the country, temperatures will drop to −11 degrees, while daytime highs in the south and west will reach +25, according to infohub.kz.
Precipitation is expected across most of the country. Heavy rain and snow are forecast at times in the east and southeast on October 15. Icy conditions are also expected in the east.
"On the night of October 16–17, frosts of 1–2 degrees are forecast in the southeast of the country," Kazhydromet said in its forecast.
No precipitation is expected in central and southern Kazakhstan. Winds will strengthen across the country, with fog at night and in the morning.
In northern Kazakhstan, nighttime temperatures will fall to −3…−8 degrees. From October 17, overnight temperatures will rise to 0…+8. Daytime highs will reach +7…+12 degrees.
In Kostanay Region, nighttime temperatures are expected to range from −1…−6 degrees. Daytime temperatures will drop from +12…+17 to +10…+15.
In eastern Kazakhstan, nighttime temperatures will range from −1…−6 to −3…−11 degrees. Daytime highs are expected to reach +3…+12, with around −2 in the east of the region.
In Karaganda Region, nighttime temperatures are forecast at −1…−8 degrees, and around +3 in the south of the region. Daytime temperatures will gradually warm to +10…+15.
In Ulytau Region, nighttime temperatures will be 0…+6 degrees, dropping to −3 in the north and east. Daytime temperatures will range from +10…+20.
In the west of the country, temperatures will fall to +7…+15 degrees at night and +17…+25 during the day.
In Aktobe Region, nighttime temperatures are expected at +1…+6 degrees, and −1…−3 in the north and east of the region. Daytime temperatures will cool to +15…+23.
In southern Kazakhstan, nighttime temperatures will drop to +2…+10 degrees, with daytime highs of +15…+25.
In the southeast, nighttime temperatures will be 0…+8 degrees, and −2…−7 in the mountains. Daytime temperatures will range from +12…+22 to +10…+18.
