Weather in Kazakhstan's major cities on Saturday, September 28, will be strikingly contrasting: while forecasters predict frost in Astana, temperatures in Shymkent will rise to +24°C. This forecast was presented by specialists of the national state enterprise Kazhydromet, according to infohub.kz.
In the capital, partly cloudy conditions are expected with no precipitation. The wind will be northeast: 3–8 m/s at night, 9–14 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures will be +2…+4°C, with possible frosts down to 2°C on the soil surface. During the day, the air will warm to +13…+15°C.
In Almaty, partly cloudy conditions are also forecast, with no rain or snow. The wind will be northeast at 3–8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be +9…+11°C, and daytime +21…+23°C.
In Shymkent, it will be partly cloudy with rain. The wind will be northeast with gusts up to 15–20 m/s. At night, temperatures will drop to +10…+12°C, while during the day it will warm up to +22…+24°C.
The heating season in Astana may begin as early as mid-October. According to the monthly weather forecast, warming is expected in the capital over the next two weeks. At the beginning of next week, from September 28 to October 1, the air in the city will warm to +14…+18°C. However, a cold snap below +10°C, which triggers the start of the heating season, will reach the capital only on October 10, after which temperatures will continue to drop.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that on September 27, frosts are expected in eight regions of Kazakhstan and Astana. In the south and southeast, there will be rains with thunderstorms, and during the day, dust storms are possible in some areas.
