In Kazakhstan, 200 people have already received test messages assigning them a welfare category, but no decision has yet been made on whether the notifications will be sent out on a mass scale. Representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population announced this at a briefing at the Central Communications Service, the website infohub.kz reports.
Minister of Labor and Social Protection Asqarbek Yertaev noted that test messages had already been sent to 200 Kazakhstanis. The question of whether the notifications will become mass is currently under discussion.
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Baqtiyar Zhazykpaev explained that the text of the notification will cover the introduction of the principle of targeting and need from January 1, as well as the main approaches to how it will work.
"The text will say that from January 1 the principle of targeting and need is being introduced, the main approaches, and how they will work. There will be no decisions (on determining the category — editor's note). It will only say that you can voluntarily refuse payments," the deputy minister added.
Recall that from January 1, 2027, certain types of benefits in Kazakhstan will be provided on the principle of need — based on an objective assessment of a family's level of social well-being.
It was reported earlier which Kazakhstanis will be assigned to categories A (high level of well-being), B (affluent), C (income from 305,000), D (on the poverty line) and E (the most vulnerable category).
In addition, during the presentation of the well-being calculator, which will determine the level of Kazakhstanis from A to E, the data of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection was checked as an example.
