In the Zhambyl region, a dispute over compensation for material damage following a road traffic accident has been resolved through reconciliation of the parties, reports infohub.kz.
According to the official Telegram channel of the Zhambyl regional courts, the Talas district court reconciled the parties in a civil case regarding the recovery of material damages and the loss of the vehicle's market value after an accident.
Initially, the plaintiff filed a lawsuit with the inter-district court for civil cases in Astana, but later the parties filed motions for extraterritorial jurisdiction. By court ruling, the case was transferred to the Talas district court of the Zhambyl region.
In February 2026, a traffic accident involving Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Tiguan vehicles occurred in Astana. The defendant was held administratively liable. The insurance company paid the plaintiff 2.6 million tenge. However, according to the report, the repair cost exceeded 3.2 million tenge. Additionally, the vehicle lost its market value. The plaintiff sought to recover the difference between the insurance payout and the actual damage, amounting to 1.6 million tenge, from the defendant.
During the court proceedings, the parties reached a mutual agreement through mediation. Under the terms of the agreement, the defendant agreed to pay the plaintiff 1.3 million tenge before the court ruling came into force. The plaintiff withdrew the lawsuit. In case of non-payment, the plaintiff is entitled to obtain a writ of execution for the recovery of 1.6 million tenge.
The court approved the agreement and terminated the proceedings. The state fee was returned to the plaintiff. The ruling has entered into legal force.
