In the Pavlodar region, 27 cases of dual citizenship have been uncovered, and violators have been brought to justice, reports infohub.kz.
Since the beginning of this year, 398 people in the region have lost their Kazakhstani citizenship. For various violations of migration legislation, 40 citizens have been held administratively liable, and 7 of them have been deported from the country, said Alexander Kuzmenko, head of the migration service department of the Pavlodar region police.
For example, a woman born in 1990, who has been a Russian citizen since 2015, failed to notify the police of this fact. Another woman, born in 1989, acquired Russian citizenship in 2026 but crossed the state border using a Kazakhstani passport.
Both women were held administratively liable for violating citizenship laws. This article provides for a fine of 100 monthly calculation indices (MCI) or deportation from Kazakhstan. Using documents of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan by persons who have lost citizenship entails a fine of 200 MCI, the head of the migration service explained.
