Kazakhstan's Interior Ministry has commented on social media reports that a woman was held accountable for laughing. Police have provided details of the incident, reports infohub.kz.

In the Telegram channel "News of the Ministry of Internal Affairs," it was stated that the information about liability "for laughing" is false. It was established that the incident occurred around 1 a.m. While on duty, police officers noticed a car with open windows: loud music was playing, and the women inside were shouting, disturbing the nighttime quiet.

The officers approached the car, checked documents, and calmly explained the reason for the stop. They issued only a verbal warning, after which the woman was released. No fine was issued, and she was not brought to administrative responsibility, the ministry said.

According to the Ministry, the woman became emotional, spoke to the officers in a raised voice, and filmed the encounter, after which she presented the incident on social media in a distorted manner. The entire conversation was recorded by body cameras. The recordings have been reviewed, and no violations by police officers were found. The woman's actions, including disrespect towards a representative of authority and dissemination of false information, will be given a legal assessment, the Ministry added.

The police urge citizens to respond calmly to lawful demands of officers and not to create artificial conflict situations for the sake of social media views.
