The final lineup of Kazakhstan's women's boxing team for the 2026 Asian Games has been announced. All athletes are in excellent shape and free from injuries, and the coaching staff has high hopes for a successful performance, reports infohub.kz.
Head coach Eldos Saidalin, in an interview with the National Olympic Committee, named the athletes who will represent the country at the continental championship. Alua Balkibekova will compete in the 51 kg category, Nazym Kyzaibay in 54 kg, Viktoriya Grafeyeva in 60 kg, Aida Abikeyeva in 65 kg, and Natalya Bogdanova in 75 kg.
"When forming the list of participants, we took into account the results of last year's World Championship and the stages of the World Cup this season," Saidalin noted.
The specialist emphasized that women's boxing in Asia is developing rapidly, and among the main rivals of the Kazakh team, he singled out the teams of India and China.
"Currently, our team is holding a training camp in the United States. On August 4, we return to Kazakhstan. After that, the athletes will train according to individual programs and get some rest. The next camp will begin on August 16. It will be attended by the national teams of Russia and the United States. And on September 9, we will go to Japan, where the final stage of preparation will take place. We will go through adaptation and prepare for the Games," the coach said.
According to him, the Kazakh athletes are in a good mood and have no injuries. The team expects a successful performance at the 2026 Asian Games.
