Kazakhstanis are expressing widespread outrage on social media over the behavior of two popular Russian streamers, Fasoollka and kae4ka, who made offensive remarks about Kazakhstan and its people. Users accuse the bloggers of inciting ethnic hatred and demand they be held accountable, reports infohub.kz.
Recently, a video circulated on Threads showing streamer kae4ka making offensive remarks about Kazakhs and expressing disdain because they do not speak Russian. "Stinky Kazakhs who don't understand Russian," the girl said.
The post sparked a wave of indignation among Kazakhstanis: they are calling for a boycott of the influencer, mass reporting of her account, and prosecution under Article 174 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan (incitement of social, national, ethnic, racial or religious hatred).
"As a representative of the Russian people, I am deeply ashamed of people like her... I can't even call her a human being, and I dread to think what goes on in her head," commented user evalutioonn.
"Guys, we just need to spam reports and file a complaint for inciting ethnic hatred," added user hialeena.
Other users noted that the recording was made more than five years ago. At the time, the streamer was a teenager and, according to them, in a difficult emotional state.
"What nonsense. Digging up something from 5 years ago, for which, by the way, Kaya has apologized multiple times on her streams," explained user lirika1003.
Some also urged not to take the blogger's remarks to heart or too seriously.
Another streamer, Fasoollka, admitted that upon arriving in the country, she expected to see yurts and people on horses in the center of Almaty. She also claimed she sees no difference between Kazakhstan and Pakistan and referred to the country as "Shtrafstan" (fine-stan).
"So, Shtrafstanian, want a smoke?", "Is Pavlodar Kazakhstan? No, Pavlodar is ours (Russian – ed.). It sounds like ours, it can't be Kazakh. Why not Pavlostan?", "I guess your village Almaty has one Starbucks?", "Tell me, at what age do women become 'illiquid' in your country? From 13?" she said.
Kazakhstanis are also calling for action against this girl in the comments. Some believe she has violated several criminal statutes, while others threaten to file a complaint with the President.
"Why hasn't she been deported and given 15 days yet?" asks user gogocame.
"@polisiakz, @akordapress, @almaty_police_department, @kuis_kz, why aren't you protecting your citizens? A streamer comes to Kazakhstan and speaks so negatively," urges user moncherriie_.
