Kazakhstanis can earn nearly 20% per annum on their savings, and in some banks, it takes just 1,000 tenge to get started. One of the most profitable options currently is three-month savings deposits, reports infohub.kz.

Interest in bank deposits is growing noticeably. In the first half of 2026, the volume of individual deposits in Kazakhstan's banks exceeded 30 trillion tenge for the first time. Over the year, the population increased their savings in second-tier banks by 4.7 trillion tenge, or 18.5%.

One of the reasons for the attractiveness of deposits remains high rates. This is especially true for savings deposits, where the client agrees to restrictions on withdrawing money in exchange for higher returns.

Among the largest banks, the most favorable offers are currently concentrated in the segment of three-month deposits. The average effective rate for the products reviewed is 18.77%. Home Credit Bank offers the highest yield. For its "Savings Home+" deposit, the effective rate reaches 19.6%. To open it, you need only 1,000 tenge. The deposit can be topped up, and interest is capitalized daily.

Freedom Bank also offers favorable terms. Its "Strategy" deposit has a rate of 19.51%.

Eurasian Bank offers 19.03% on its "TURBO Deposit Savings". The minimum amount to open is also 1,000 tenge.

In four other banks – Bereke Bank, Bank RBK, ForteBank, and Kaspi Bank – the yield on the considered three-month savings deposits is 19%. In fact, this level has become the most common among such offers from the largest banks.

A high rate does not necessarily mean a high entry threshold. In addition to Home Credit Bank and Eurasian Bank, you can start with 1,000 tenge with the Birge+ deposit from Bank CenterCredit. Another BCC product, "My Goal", has a minimum amount of just 1 tenge.

For the higher yield, depositors have to sacrifice free access to their money. Savings deposits have stricter rules for early withdrawal than regular deposits. Therefore, this method is more suitable for savings that will definitely not be needed within the set term.

But savings deposits have another advantage. The maximum guarantee from the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund for them is 20 million tenge per depositor per bank. For comparison, for cards, accounts, and non-savings deposits in tenge, the guarantee is up to 10 million tenge, and for deposits in foreign currency – up to 5 million tenge.
