Since the beginning of the year, Kazakhtelecom has connected eight residential buildings in Aktau to its optical infrastructure, and in the near future, four more residential complexes will gain access to GPON technology. One of the newly connected facilities is the Aysar residential complex with 240 apartments, reports the website infohub.kz.
For the family of Zulpiya Arakhova, living in the Aysar complex, the connection of the building to fiber optics coincided with the start of the school year. In her family, the children actively use the internet for studying, searching for information, and online lessons.
"Now that the school year has begun, the internet is especially needed by children. They do homework, find additional information, and study online. Therefore, it is important for our family that the internet is fast and stable. It is very convenient that such services are now available in our building," said Zulpiya Arakhova.
GPON technology involves running a fiber-optic line directly to the subscriber's apartment. This allows multiple services to be used simultaneously over one network - home internet, television, and other digital services.
In addition to new residential complexes, Kazakhtelecom plans to expand the optical network in the private sector as well. One of the next projects will be implemented in the village of Kyzyltobe, Munaily district, where the possibility of connecting to GPON is planned for approximately 1,200 households. The project involves the construction of about 800 ports.
"We continue to develop the optical network both in Aktau itself and in nearby settlements. Currently, we are preparing four more residential complexes in the city for connection. The next large volume of work is ahead in Kyzyltobe - there we are talking about the private sector. It is important for us that modern infrastructure appears not only in new high-rise buildings but also where residents of private houses today need high-quality wired internet," noted Baurzhan Kaliyev, head of the Aktau city workshop of the installation works department of the retail business division of Kazakhtelecom.
Before connecting new facilities, company specialists meet with residents, advise on available services, and collect applications. This format allows assessing demand and determining the need for connection even at the network development stage.
