Two tragedies occurred in Kazakhstan within two days: two employees of Kazakhtelecom JSC died while performing work assignments. The incidents happened in the Zhambyl and Kostanay regions, one day apart, both during the replacement and dismantling of communication poles using crane-manipulators, reports infohub.kz.
The first accident occurred on August 4 in the village of Asa, Zhambyl region. According to the Telegram channel HALYQSTAN, a 61-year-old crane-manipulator driver and electrician Azalkhan Tursunov was replacing a communication pole using a KamAZ truck. During the work, the manipulator touched power lines running nearby. The man received a fatal electric shock and died on the spot.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into this incident. Forensic examinations have been ordered to establish all circumstances and verify compliance with safety requirements. The person responsible for the work was taken to the police. The manipulator vehicle was seized and placed in a specialized parking lot in Taraz as material evidence.
The second fatal incident was recorded on August 5 in the village of Moskalevka, Auliekol district, Kostanay region. A 56-year-old electrician, Mubarak Bektauov, together with a team, was dismantling old wooden communication poles on Aprelskaya Street. While lifting one of the poles, the hook of the crane-manipulator came off, and the falling pole struck the man on the head. The injuries proved fatal—arriving medics could only confirm the worker's death. The information was confirmed by law enforcement and the Department for Emergency Situations.
Kazakhtelecom JSC reported that investigations into both cases are ongoing. "Investigations are being conducted into both incidents with the participation of authorized state bodies. The company is providing full assistance in establishing all circumstances of what happened," the company stated.
Earlier, Kursiv reported on the deaths of six people in the sewer of a dairy farm in the Pavlodar region, which is also under police investigation.
