Even the availability of free toilets along the road does not always guarantee they will be used. The national company KazAvtoZhol has made an unusual request to drivers and passengers – to stop relieving themselves behind sanitary facility buildings on republican highways, reports infohub.kz.
As explained by the company, heated and cold sanitary facilities are operating on republican roads, and all travelers can use them for free. However, at some sites, people prefer not to wait their turn and relieve themselves right behind the toilet building. This leads to contamination of the area, unpleasant odors, litter, and unsanitary conditions.
KazAvtoZhol reminded that road toilets are for public use and asked to follow simple rules. Drivers and passengers are urged to use the sanitary facilities, even if they have to wait a bit, not to leave behind trash and toilet paper, and to treat the property with care and respect the work of employees who maintain cleanliness.
"Cleanliness on the road starts with each of us. Let's work together to keep sanitary areas clean and comfortable for all road users," the statement reads.
