In 2025, members of the board of the national highway operator KazAvtoZhol received remuneration totaling 156.4 million tenge, which is 9.3 million tenge (or 6.4%) more than a year earlier, reports infohub.kz.
According to company data, payments were distributed among six board members, averaging 26.1 million tenge per person. In 2024, the total remuneration was 147.1 million tenge, but it was divided among eight people, so the average payment per executive was lower at 18.4 million tenge. Thus, over the year, the average payment increased by 7.7 million tenge, or 41.8%.
Looking at the five-year trend, the growth becomes even more pronounced. In 2020, the company's management received a total of 97.2 million tenge, and in 2025, 156.4 million tenge, an increase of 59.2 million tenge (or 60.8%). Per board member, payments rose from 13.9 million tenge in 2020 to 26.1 million tenge in 2025, an increase of 12.2 million tenge, or 87.7%.
The dynamics of payments to KazAvtoZhol board members are as follows: in 2025, 156.4 million tenge for six people (average 26.1 million); in 2024, 147.1 million for eight (18.4 million); in 2023, 126.2 million for eight (15.8 million); in 2022, 115.4 million for ten (11.5 million); in 2021, 89.9 million for twelve (7.5 million); and in 2020, 97.2 million for seven (13.9 million).
Thus, despite a relatively moderate increase in the total remuneration fund in recent years, the reduction in the number of board members has led to a significantly faster increase in payments per executive.
The increase in management compensation came amid improved financial results. In 2025, KazAvtoZhol posted a net profit of 393.1 million tenge, compared to a loss of 5.2 billion tenge a year earlier. The national highway operator's annual revenue rose from 75.8 billion to 89.1 billion tenge.
However, the company's accumulated problems have not completely disappeared. At the end of 2025, KazAvtoZhol's uncovered loss stood at 22.98 billion tenge.
The report also indicates that the company revised its financial results for 2024. Previously, KazAvtoZhol reported a profit of 40.9 billion tenge, but the updated version of the report for the same period reflects a loss of 5.2 billion tenge.
The sole shareholder of KazAvtoZhol remains the state, represented by the Committee of State Property and Privatization of the Ministry of Finance.
