November is expected to be warmer than usual across most of Kazakhstan — by 1–2 degrees — while temperatures in the country's northwest will stay close to the climate norm. Kazhydromet meteorologists issued this advisory forecast for November 2026, infohub.kz reports.
According to the meteorologists, weather across the country will be unstable throughout the month. Precipitation is forecast, heavy on some days, along with stronger winds and blowing snow, fog and icy conditions.
The first week of November will be dominated by relatively warm, partly cloudy weather without precipitation. Only in the northeast and east of the country will rain and wet snow fall at the very start of the month, with fog possible at night.
From the middle of the first ten-day period, an active cyclone moving in from the Black Sea region will bring precipitation to the western regions — rain turning to snow. By the end of the period, unsettled, windy weather with precipitation is forecast for the rest of the country, with mostly rain expected in the southern half of Kazakhstan. The unstable weather will bring fog, icy conditions and winds gusting to 15–28 meters per second.
At the start of the month, daytime temperatures will be plus 12–22 degrees in the west, southwest, south and southeast; in the north, northwest (Kostanay Region), center and east, nighttime temperatures will range from minus 1–8 degrees to 0 and plus 5 degrees, with daytime temperatures of plus 5–13 degrees.
At the end of the first ten-day period, daytime temperatures in the northern half of the country are expected to fall to 0 and plus 5 degrees, to plus 8–13 degrees in the southern half and to plus 2–10 degrees in the west.
In Kazakhstan's mountainous areas, nighttime temperatures are expected to range from minus 3 and plus 2 degrees to minus 5–10 degrees, with daytime temperatures of plus 2–10 degrees.
During the second and third ten-day periods of November, temperatures are expected to fluctuate frequently: in the northern half of the country, nighttime temperatures from minus 1–13 degrees to minus 3 and plus 5 degrees, and daytime temperatures from plus 1–10 degrees to 0 and minus 5 degrees; in the southern half, nighttime temperatures from 0 and minus 5 degrees to plus 2–10 degrees, and daytime temperatures from 0 and plus 5 degrees to plus 7–15 degrees. However, on some days in the north, east and center of the country, nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to minus 10–18 degrees.
Kazhydromet noted that the monthly weather forecast should be treated as advisory and is subsequently adjusted as the synoptic situation changes and refined by ten-day weather forecasts.
