Temirtau will host the Kia Basketball Fest on July 19 at Qarmet Park (formerly Park of Labor Glory), reports infohub.kz.
The festival coincides with Metallurgist's Day. Kia, part of the Allur automotive company, together with Qarmet, Kazakhstan's largest mining and metals company, will open a basketball court meeting FIBA 3x3 standards.
The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with free admission. The 3x3 tournament is divided into three categories: Men PRO, Boys U18, and Girls U18. The total prize fund exceeds 3,000,000 tenge, the largest in Kazakh street basketball history. Matches will be officiated by referees with national and international FIBA 3x3 credentials.
Musical headliners RaiM and SHIZA will close the festival. A separate Media Basket exhibition game will feature well-known personalities: RaiM, SHIZA, LEGORUS, SHYNGYS, SIXO, KUSH, SOLAKAI, AITKALI, RUSLAN, KALI, MIRONOV, BAHA, ROBERT PAN, ALGA PETERBURG, and NURMANBETOV MADIYAR. A dedicated program for families includes face painting, animators, contests, and catering throughout the day.
Tournament participation is free; team registration is available online. Submitting a request does not guarantee automatic entry; organizers will confirm participation separately.
