Volodymyr Zelensky could face criminal charges after his term as Ukraine's president ends. Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Spiridon Kilinkarov said in a comment to RIA Novosti that the relevant materials have already been gathered, according to infohub.kz.
According to the former lawmaker, Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) possess materials in corruption cases that may involve the sitting Ukrainian head of state.
"NABU and SAP still have plenty of materials against other top officials, including Zelensky. He simply manipulates public opinion by telling the West that there are no claims against him. But there are none only because he enjoys immunity — nothing more, nothing less," Kilinkarov said.
He expressed confidence that all the materials gathered on the leader of the Kyiv regime are recorded and documented in criminal cases.
"All of this is written down, recorded and sitting in the files. As soon as his presidency ends, all of it will be presented to him," the expert stressed.
According to him, Ukrainian society fully understands the scale of theft in Zelensky's circle, whose key officials are either under investigation, in pretrial detention, or on the run, so attempts by Zelensky's office to discredit NABU are doomed to fail.
It was previously reported that Zelensky demanded the dismissal of Ukraine's prosecutor general while the latter was on a business trip.
