In Shymkent, officers of the National Security Committee's (KNB) anti-corruption department have exposed a senior official for accepting bribes. According to investigators, Murat Beisenbayev, head of the sanitary and epidemiological control department for the Turan district, systematically received money from entrepreneurs in exchange for issuing positive conclusions, reports infohub.kz.
As noted in the Telegram channel Kozachkov offside, the incident occurred on September 1. The official was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe. Investigators believe he acted through his subordinates, who collected money from businessmen.
A pre-trial investigation is underway under Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan — “Receiving a bribe by a group of persons.” The KNB press service confirmed the investigation but declined to provide further details, citing Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which prohibits disclosure of pre-trial information.
According to the official website of the Shymkent Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control, Murat Beisenbayev has held the position of head of the department for the Turan district since May 24, 2023.
