Since the beginning of 2026, border control at checkpoints has prevented 200 attempts to enter with fake documents, the website infohub.kz reports.

The National Security Committee (KNB) explained how the border service works to prevent entry of individuals with fake or stolen documents. "Most violators used fake visas and document forms containing third parties' personal data. Frequent cases were detected on southern border sections and on international flights," the KNB said.

In 2025, more than 660 similar offenses were recorded. Border guards reminded that crossing the border with fake or stolen documents is a criminal offense.
