Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Ministry has provided an update on the condition of a Kazakhstan-born woman injured in a knife attack in Northern Cyprus, reports infohub.kz.
According to the ministry, the Kyrgyzstani woman remains in serious condition. She regains consciousness periodically and is under constant medical supervision. A close relative has arrived and is by her side, offering support during her treatment.
It was also reported that the attacker has regained consciousness. Investigative actions are ongoing, and a decision on a preventive measure for him is currently being considered.
As previously reported, on August 4, an unknown individual attacked a woman with a knife in Northern Cyprus for reasons not yet established. Both were taken to the hospital, where they remain under medical care. Initially, it was reported that the victim was a citizen of Kazakhstan, but later the Kazakh Foreign Ministry clarified that the victim, though born in Kazakhstan, holds Kyrgyzstani citizenship.
