An incident involving a bladed weapon occurred on public transport in Almaty. A video of the conflict, posted on social media, has sparked widespread public outcry, reports infohub.kz.

The footage, shared on the Instagram account Novacity.news, shows two men in a bus first exchanging words using profanity. The argument soon escalates into a fight. At one point, a third passenger armed with a knife intervenes, running toward the brawlers with threats, causing panic among passengers: women screamed, and other men tried to calm the participants.

The Almaty Police Department responded promptly to the published video. The department stated that the Turksib District Police Department has opened a criminal case. The suspects have been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. Police emphasized that the actions of those involved will be given a principled legal assessment, noting that such aggressive and socially dangerous behavior is unacceptable. The guilty will be punished in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
