In Kokshetau, operatives using cameras from the central operations center (COC) traced the route of a stolen car and detained a suspect, reports the website infohub.kz.

According to the press service of the Akmola Regional Police Department, on the morning of September 2, a local resident reported the theft of his VAZ-2112. The owner said that an unknown person stole the car from his yard. During the investigation, it was found that the car was left unlocked with the ignition keys inside. The suspect took advantage of this oversight.

Immediately after the report, police launched a set of operational and investigative measures, including reviewing city surveillance camera footage. An alert for the stolen car was sent to all patrol units. One of the COC cameras captured the stolen vehicle, allowing police to track its route. The information was promptly relayed to patrol officers.

As a result, a patrol team consisting of inspectors Kuanysh Sadbekov and Beibit Kambashev detained the suspect the same day. It was established that after taking the car, the suspect drove around the city looking for cigarettes. An investigation into the theft is underway, and all circumstances are being established.
