A massive multi-specialty hospital is under construction in Kokshetau, set to house five city polyclinics and inpatient facilities currently in outdated buildings. The project is 76% complete, according to infohub.kz.
The new medical complex will be one of Kazakhstan's largest hospitals. It will feature a major diagnostic center capable of serving up to 500 patients per shift, a day hospital, and maternity and oncology wards with 120 beds each.
Doctors will have 19 modern operating rooms, and the clinic will be equipped with advanced CT, MRI, and radiation therapy equipment.
It will treat complex injuries, heart and nervous system diseases, and provide rehabilitation after strokes. For emergencies where every minute counts, a helipad has been included on the premises.
Health Minister Aqaral Alnazarova visited to inspect the construction progress.
"This is one of the largest public-private partnership projects in healthcare in the last 20 years. It is crucial not only to complete construction on time but also to equip the hospital with modern technology and qualified staff. We will support the project at every stage," the minister emphasized.
Training for doctors and nurses for the future hospital began last year. Once opened, five city medical institutions currently cramped in old buildings are expected to move into this modern complex. In total, the new hospital will create about 1,500 jobs for the city.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a multi-specialty hospital worth 6.9 billion tenge is being built in the West Kazakhstan region.
